Find your magnetic Brand Voice to get noticed and get sales

You’re part of the “how the heck do I find my brand voice” club if you’ve ever stared at your blinking cursor thinking, “How do I say this in a way that actually sounds like me?” as you were about to write your offer copy…

Or if you’ve posted content that felt a little too… safe and generic… because you self-censored and deleted that whole part where you were voicing an unpopular opinion…

I feel you. You’re not alone.

You might have tried using AI… But after reading the text, it was SO obvious that it was written by a content bot… (you know, sentences like “unleash your brilliance” or “let your sales soar”… did you cringe? Yeah… me too…)

Finding your brand voice is not a nice-to-have.

It’s THE thing that makes you unforgettable in a crowd of broad advice, Googleable “how-to” hacks and polished Canva graphics.

It’s what creates the kind of connection that gets you noticed, booked and helps you double (or even triple!) your sales!

But hey! You’re here right now! And you’re about to find your brand voice!
*Cue breakthrough music for happy effects*

So, here’s what’s on the menu of this article:

Find your magnetic brand voice to get noticed and get sales

Let’s be real: your offers aren’t the problem

You have a solid offer, you’ve worked with clients who have gotten amazing results… You know your stuff. FACTS!

But sales feel inconsistent and your content isn’t converting as much as you KNOW it should…

So, before you run away and create a new offer at a lower price, let me tell you that it’s NOT your offer. And no, it’s not your price either…

It’s your messaging… More precisely, how you’re communicating the results your offer brings to your ideal clients.

Copy that sells doesn’t just explain what you do.
It conveys

  • why it matters,
  • why you’re different (ok, why YOU are the expert they absolutely need in their life!)
  • and why NOW (and not “maybe one day”)

It creates a connection. It’s clear. It’s unapologetically YOU!

And that kind of copy starts with a strong, aligned brand voice.

So, what IS a brand voice (really…)?

Your brand voice is how your business communicates, whether it is on your website, your social media content, emails and of course, your offer copy (yep, even if you don’t have a website and use a Google doc!).

It obviously has to be consistent. It reflects your personality in the words you use, it creates emotions when people read them.

  • Your tone: The emotional aspect you’re showing: calm, sassy, enthusiastic, etc.
  • Your language: The words and idioms you use or don’t use. You can drop some familiar words occasionally, or abbreviations, even emojis! Some even include swear words, I’m not here to judge anyone. My point is: use a language that sounds and feels like you, naturally!
  • Your personality: The deeper vibe that your people can read between the lines… Are you the big sis or bro, the cheerleader, the no-fluff coach or the nurturing expert?

Your brand voice is basically what attracts your ideal clients to you, what activates your audience to recognize you as THE expert they need “yesterday”!

  • 1) “Here’s why mindset is important”

This statement sounds professional, educational and neutral.

It sounds very generic, doesn’t really generate emotions, blends in and doesn’t stand out… It doesn’t REALLY showcases expertise nor does it generate trust…

Now this statement:

  • 2) “You’re not lazy! Your brain is just stuck in survival mode. Let’s fix that!”

This statement shows empathy, it’s bold and empowering!

It makes you feel seen and understood with an implied “I got you” vibe, while speaking directly about the solution, giving hopeful vibes, without judgment.

It connects, educates in a way that shows authority and leadership AND it feels uplifting!

You see the difference, you feel it… And there’s not right or wrong! You choose who you want to be and how you want to be seen!

And since you’re reading this, I know you’re all about statement number 2! *gimme a high five*

Why finding your brand voice matters more than ever

Why finding your brand voice matters more than ever

You’re not here to copy anyone else’s business.

You’re here to create and scale your own unique business, the one that God has appointed you to create.

And you’re also here to build a business that reflects your values, and gets your sales without cringing every time you need to market yourself.

But right now, here’s what’s happening:

  • Mimicking mentors or successful coaches because “if it works for them, it has to work for you”, right? Hmmm nope, not quite. Everything works, but not everything works for everyone!
  • Trying to make everything look perfect… or doing the opposite and oversharing the “messy” stuff like it’s a therapy session (cue the drama)… Either way, you’re shooting yourself in the foot. It doesn’t make you look “more professional” or highlight your expertise… And it definitely doesn’t build trust because it doesn’t reflect the real “you”
  • Playing it “safe” so you don’t repel or offend anyone… and therefore end up having nice comments and likes… but last time I checked, those don’t pay the bills. That’s why I don’t focus on “vanity metrics” and don’t buy into the “influencer business model”. This comes from a place of caring, people-pleasing, fear of judgment… and God knows how I’ve been there myself, so I definitely understand!

As a matter of fact, I’ve experienced all of these myself (except the “oversharing” part). So if any (or all) of these sound familiar, it’s ok, I got you! We’re not doing that anymore!

It’s just that you haven’t allowed yourself to BE and communicate your true opinions yet! You’re probably focusing too much on finding THE strategy that will work for you and second-guessing yourself along the way.

Ask me how I know… Yep, I’ve also been there too. And in my case (tell me if you can relate) it came from a place of trauma and being gaslit. So, I totally get it.

The great thing is that we’re not here to blame, shame or rewrite the past.

We’re here to create an amazing future for your business!

And the good news is that you don’t have to reinvent the wheel. You just need to let your voice be heard.

In other words, to have your messaging sound like you and write as you speak!

FAQ – How to find your brand voice

Your brand voice is how your business communicates across your website, social media, emails, and offer copy. It’s made up of your tone (the emotional vibe), your language (the specific words and phrases you use), and your personality (the deeper character people pick up on). It matters because it’s what makes you recognizable and memorable instead of sounding like every other service provider in your industry. When your brand voice is clear and consistent, your ideal clients feel like you’re speaking directly to them.

Start by writing like you talk. Record yourself explaining what you do to a friend, then transcribe it and notice the words and phrases you naturally use. Pay attention to how your friends describe your personality and what makes you different from other people in your field. You don’t need to have it perfect from day one. Your brand voice will get clearer as you create more content and see what resonates with your ideal clients.

Yes, and it should. The version of you who started your business a few years ago isn’t the same version of you now. As you grow, pivot, or scale, your brand voice will evolve to reflect where you are and who you’re serving. The key is to update your messaging intentionally so it still sounds like you, just the current version. If your content feels stale or doesn’t match who you are anymore, it’s time to refresh your brand voice.

Good. Your brand voice should repel people who aren’t your ideal clients. When you try to appeal to everyone by playing it safe and sounding generic, you end up attracting no one. The people who resonate with your voice are the ones who will become clients. The ones who don’t weren’t going to work with you anyway. Being clear about who you are and how you communicate saves everyone time and brings in clients who actually want to work with you.

Your brand voice is working when your ideal clients tell you they feel like you’re reading their mind or speaking directly to them. You’ll also notice your content gets more engagement from the right people, not just likes from everyone. If people are reaching out already half-sold on working with you because your messaging resonated, that’s a sign your brand voice is doing its job. If you’re getting generic comments or no response at all, your voice probably needs to be clearer and more specific.
